Question:I have a completely open ended theatre history project due and I'm stuck on how to get started!

Who would you think you be one of the most famous theatre characters? Or maybe one that changed a lot through out history as he/she was played by different actors? Pretty much I need famous character suggestions. All help is greatly appreciated!
