Auditioning online?

Yes...actually...But it depends where you live AND if the casting director will even accept an emailed or posted audition...
BUT both LA and NY have Breakdown Services who provide an audition posting service.
AND L.A. has a company called The Casting Frontier that a lot of CDs use to post heir OWN audition footage. We like it because we don't have to ship DVDs to a bunch of clients all over the country.
Again though, your very first step is to find out whether the casting director will even take footage without you actually being there. Some will, and you just HAVE to be there during the callbacks.
Anyway...that's how it usually works

No - they will always want to see you in person because they need to know not only what you're like on camera, but what you're like as a person and as an employee. They need to see if you listen, how you interact with the director and how you interact with other people.

Sorry, you'll have to go to the auditions in order to get the part.
