love and free will and following your dreams!!!

breaking away from being a nun or an uptight dad or the nazis

etc etc
i love that movie
i think that the way they have her dancing free on the hill on all the DVD cover is a good representation

but if you have to make up your own then i think that maybe you could show that last scene where they are all hiking through the mountains
thats symbolic of the whole story so yeah you could do a representation of that

hope this helps!! :D

Nazi gets girl.
Nazi loses girl.
Girl loses nazi.

Breaking away from Communism? Finding love and freedom.

No matter what your dream is - if you work hard for it - it can come true.
Family in Austria - German's want father for German Navy because he was high ranking officer in Austrian Navy. He wants nothing to do with Germany. So off to the Alps and to American where they settled in Vermont and had music camps and traveled around singing.

The Sound of Music is about an Austrian family of 7 children whose mother died when they were very young. Maria, a nun, comes to be their governess (like a nanny) and brings music into their lives. The children's father is very strict at first, but Maria's warmth and spirit move him to be more loving and affectionate with his children. Eventually, Maria and the father fall in love and get married, much to the children's delight. However, the Nazi's are exerting control over Austria and the father is supposed to report to a position in the army (I think it's the army). He doesn't support Hitler or the Nazis, so the family runs away to Switzerland. If you are doing a project with pictures, you could try using scenery from Austria or images that represent music and songs.
