Question:I'm working on making a remake of Potter Puppet Pals the Mysterious Ticking Noise. I want to make a cheap theatre to show it in, but still decent (like I'll buy fabric for a curtain, but I don't want to make it out of wood). Any thoughts on how I can put one together? I also have a large 4'X5' ish box that I can use.

I'm thinking if you know someone who works for a Target store, or perhaps the Wyndham hotel, you can get some pretty large cardboard boxes. That by itself might not be enough support for the curtain; however you could get a couple wood rods from Ace Hardware cheap enough to add support. Card board boxes, curtains, wood rods, duct tape, and a little hope. :) Also, if you happen to have friends, or family doing this with you, they could chip in on the expenses.

How about a beach umbrella with a curtain all around, and a 'stage' installed in one side?

Cardboard boxes are always a good way to go. You could consider something more creative though, like setting up in a bathtub, with the shower curtain doubling as the actual "curtain".
