Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Does anyone know what song I should use for a masquerade scene?

Question:I am writing my own play, for a school production. It is about Sweeney Todd, Mrs Lovett and Jack the Ripper, the 3 demons teaming up together to finish the scums of society.
A love triangle is formed.

I want it to be a masquerade scene, where all the actors wear masks. Jack and Sweeney both come on and dance with the ladies, while Mrs Lovett is going around with a platter of meat pies. They are planning to murder the duke and his wife.

I want a morbid song. Any ideas? The masquerade is surely a colourful event but there's a morbid and horrible side to it. Something sinister.

Name of artist and title of song please.

Many thanks.

Something sinister, eh?
Well there's this circus like music from Korn's newest album. It's the first song "Intro" and I think it's perfect!
When I hear it I imagine some creepy goth carnival :)

You do know that if you use a published song, you have to ask for and pay for the rights to use it, right? This particularly holdds true if the song is from a Broadway play, but it still holds true if the song is "Masquerade" by George Benson.

Don't cheat artists out of the money that they're due.

What if you write this play and then discover that someone else is doing it and you're not getting any royalties from it. How'd you feel?
