Question:Im auditioning for the wizard of oz and i was thinking about sining "mama who bore me" from spring awakening. I think its a beautiful song and i sing it well, but im 14 and barely old enough to se the show much less be a believable wendela. But I want dorothy and dorothy is around the same age as wendela right? HELP!!

No that's not appropriate! It is a beautiful song but it has no place at a Wizard audition. Try Home from Beauty and the Beast.

Remember it's not just age but character type that you want to convey... Spring Awakening is not even remotely the type of feel you want to leave them with when you want Dorothy.

That's not appropriate AT ALL!!!

In fact, you might not be able to find much more inappropriate. WOOz has an old style Styne/Arlen/Rogers type score. Spring Awakening could not be any further from that if you tried. (Of course, you did try!) You need something more old-school and melodic. Look at songs by Jule Style, Kern, Rodgers, Bob Merrill.
