Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Where is the best place to get well-rounded monologues?

Question:(I am most interested in film acting)

I want to have three monologues perfected. A comedic one, a dramatic one, and I don't know what the 3rd should be. I don't know where the best place to get one is. Should I get them from the web or books? I just don't want to get crappy monologues that everybody has heard before or else they are just crappy.

Can somebody help me out? Thanks!

The well roundedness will depend upon your performance, you should have some classical pieces ready to go as well, but really film auditions rarely require monologues, the number one skill you need is cold reading.

But try Colin's Movie Monologue page: whysanity.net

The third should be Shakespeare. You get the kind of monologues that auditions want from plays that have been printed in books. All aspiring actors should go to the library and read as many plays as they can in order to find the right monologues for themselves. So get reading!
