Position:Home>Theater & Acting> What is the difference an acting manager and a acting agent?

Question:An actor will hire an agent to primarily find them roles to audition for, parts and options they can seek out, and sometimes work with them concerning resumés, headshots, and other things to help them with when they go to audition.

An actor will hire a manager when they need someone to "manage" them as an actor-- they would manage any public appearances, dates, payroll options, rules, et cetera. A manager manages almost every aspect of their acting (and sometimes more than acting) life except for, in most cases, the actual finding of roles.

Hope this helps!!

R U asking about an actor's Manager and an actor's Agent?

A manager manages the career, from the time the actor leaves the house until she/he returns. They are there to make certain everything goes without a hitch; housing, transportation, food, medical, personal life, etc. An agent finds roles, sends the Actor out on casting calls, and generally books work for the Actor.

i hope this helps

Manager gets 15% agent gets 10% agent gets you work Manager well make sure you know people, and make you get more pay, or get a bigger dressing room, or get you signed to a steven spielberg movie.

there's really no need for a manager unless you've had great success... on the contrary, the first step towards creating success for yourself is securing a good agent... this is the person who gets you auditions and hence gets you roles... a manager is more like a personal assistant
