Poor girl. You paid all that money for JRP and got some training but absolutely no education on the industry.

Unfortunately, JRP will tell ANYONE they can be a working model. So here's the first tough question...how tall are you?

If you're not at least 5'9", you will never walk the catwalk, no matter what you've been told so far. That doesn't mean you won't be able to do print work, but it's pointless to dream about doing the shows if you're not that tall or taller. Sorry, it doesn't matter how beautiful you are, that's the standard. For every inch that you're shorter than that, your chance at print work drops as well. JRP and other schools take money to 'train' a lot of girls who are way too short to ever work.

Where do you live? You need to start contacting modeling agencies in the nearest big city to where you live. Yeah, there are agencies in smaller towns too, but you want ones that can actually get you work. If you're close enough to LA, Chicago, or NY to get an agent there, you may be able to get the really good jobs, with big magazines. If you're nowhere near those cities, you'll be able to get work for regional magazines, local company ads, that sort of thing.

Ask agencies you contact if they are accepting new models. One of the ways they prove to you that they are a legitmate agency is to provide you with a list of companies they've provided models for, show you ads that their people have been in, etc. If they refuse, citing confidentiality or whatever nonsense, they are not a legitimate agency.

Do NOT sign with anyone who asks you for money. Period. Reputable agencies make money from their percentages when you work, and their fee comes out of your paycheck.

Do you have a portfolio? An agency will expect you to pay a photographer (not someone they employ) to take portfolio shots if you don't. Do NOT pay their photographer if they say they'll consider you only after you do so. It's a scam.

Keep in mind that a good agency will tell you flat out what your chances of getting work will be. Agents who are trying to sell you classes or get you to fork over a signing fee or other payment will always tell you that you'll work a ton, that you'll be the next big face, etc. A real agent knows the industry, and will know after looking at you and your photos if you have any hope of really working or not.

Good luck!

sorry no.

... just got a lil advice.. most models r sluts n posers and most ppl hate them

Always remember that there is always something around your area that you can audition for.Search list of agents in you area in google.Thats what i did and it worked.I went to one audition already for one of the agencies I got,and another one coming up.Good luck.

Well, you need an agent so your best bet is to try to befriend a model who in deed has representation and is working.

Remember that this is the entertainment business and modeling is the most competitive field of all so you need to network and establish some connections with people who are doing what you yourself want to be doing.

You've got to prepare yourself for a lot of rejections. Let me say that again you have to prepare yourself for a LOT of rejections and be able to keep a good attitude and desire for it.

Find a list of models and call them, e-mail them, and use a shotgun approach in trying to befriend them until you find that one or two that just might give you the time of day and give you some well meaning advice.

There is no such thing as you making it in this business as a loner. That goes for any of the other branches in the entertainment industry as well.

Find models that work in your area locally and start pounding the pavement.

If you are a female try to befriend a female model that is not a lesbian and certainly not a male model.

You mention that you have had lots of training and that you want to do some acting? Seems strange that you haven't done any work already?

There are exceptions and best of luck to you..
