Question:Do you ever fear that all the effort and desire you have in and have to be a successful actor/actress will all be for nothing? Do you ever feel dpressed and feel like giving up because deep down you feel that you're never going to make it? What gives you the strength to keep going on? I'm 15 and sometimes I feel like this already

Oh YES! Aside from my own experiencesssssss, ahem, I can assure you that from the gazillion and a half biographies I've read about great actors that you are in good company and perfectly normal. Reading those books, btw, has helped me to keep on keepin' on.

Also - remember (easy to type, not so easy to do) that feelings are transitory - they come and they go - they are not fact. Gravity is a fact - on earth anyway. Feeling inadequate can easily change to feeling FANTASTIC by doing your best and being covered with accolades!

The people who make it in the business are the ones who can somehow push thru, jump over, ignore or whatever, those dragging-down feelings of doubt.

Go get 'em!!! You CAN do it!

Always have a plan b but never give up on plan a :)

Yeah, but isn't the final bow on stage, or watching your work on film totally worth it? Yeah, acting can get discouraging, but the same goes for EVERYTHING in life. If it's something you love to do, stick to it, because for every setback you face, winning in the end is twice as rewarding as it would be if you had just cruised to the finish line. Trust me.

Well, at 15 years old its really hard getting your career started because you're still in high school and havent really done any serious acting. Maybe plays here and there, but nothing too serious.

I'm 20 and haven't done much acting at all, but I still have high hopes because the film industry is always looking for new actors, always. And if you work hard, get some connections, you'll make it.

You are only 15 years old and you are not sure what do you want of your life. I think you need a better teacher for this, who can give you more strenght in acting. I am taking profesional acting classes, I am 22 years old and I never felt that way. I know everybody is an actor. You need to step in side somebody's else shoes, when you preform monologues or etc... And really feel what the character felt.

No I don't feel the same. Something may be interfeiring with your acting. You don't need to act for money but act for just...well.... acting and entertaining. In the end it will all be worth it. Even if you don't become a superstar celeberty

sometimes i do but i keep my head up high and if u like it so much u don't put your head down because if u do and they notice they wont like u as much if u want it u got to take it. its not where your at its were your going and i hope that's Hollywood best of luck man

thats exactly how i feel. im 15 too.
emma watson is my idol. whenever i feel liek this, i just search her on the internet and that keeps me going. do you have an idol? search him/her.
also, i look for local auditions now and again, so i know that i still feel up to it because i get really excited.
dont worry.. just believe in yourself!
(i take it you go to a drama class? if not, WHY? start now!)
bye xx

I do fear sometimes that my efforts won't get me anywhere but what keeps me going is the fact that I'm having a ton of fun doing it now. Live in the moment and don't worry about the future. If it's something that you want to do you'll find a way to keep going, even in the toughest times.

No but I know for a fact what ever I do I will get a chance to make a living by helping people become cultural and learn about acting. Theatre isn't a job..........It's a way of life!

Yes, I felt like that yesterday. I felt like This never going to happen i am going to be stuck as a little guy the rest of my life. And that I should go for something else. But When I got thinking about it, I thought to myself "This is something that I have always wanted to do I knew it was going to be hard but I told myself I could Make it I am going to Keep Going" It is VERY hard For us actors/actresses out there. We can get some of the biggest let downs. But we are also VERY lucky to be who are, Because we keep going we can even after all the turn downs. Every Flower must grow through dirt. And Right Now we are in the dirt. But Soon we Will Be the Amazing Flower that everyone wants to be.
