Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Can't find talented musicians for band...?

Question:I live in a small town on the Tombigbee River in Alabama (against my will) and I have yet to find any talented musicians. I would really like to start a band, for I am a capable musician that exceeds on piano and is good at rhythm guitar and composing music (I've written a some lead before, but only one really good solo that accompanies a piano riff). I know my helping of music theory along with how to read and am a teenage self taught musician. I have looked constantly to find someone that can play an instrument acceptably and can read, yet I haven't found anyone up to my expectations. I am one of the only kids I know that has even heard any good rock music (no one else has heard of any songs by the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, Aerosmith, and I am not joking). Any suggestions in finding somebody that knows enough to get the job done?

I had a band in my living room for 9 months and they practiced almost everyday. If you have that kind of passion, a band will come your way. An equally talented musician of your age group is about to appear in your life. Allow the future you wish to unfold in front of your eyes by simply wishing it.

There are many other isolated musicians within miles of you, wondering the same thing. You have leadership, so go ahead, make it happen. Wish upon a star and simply with patience watch your dream come true.

The very small town I live in, an hour south of Seattle has hundreds of musicians that jam together because we have a network of musicians. Someone long ago started this network and it works.

It is apparent that you are the one in your town to start a network. Find a coffee bar or bistro or funky restaurant that will host a Jam session every Friday night. They make money while you scout band members.

I promise you, after 2 months of Jamming every Friday Night for free, you will attract talented musicians and many will become great friends.

btw Greetings from Seattle
Caroline.

HM...ON THE NET?

Move to Maine and join my band. We need good musicians.

you could post up advertisements on the internet, forums, or in your town.

ull find 1 soon.music woud'nt be lost on any small town.its probably right under ur nose.

i'm a singer, but not a musician, could that help? :^/

You could always advertise on the internet (being careful with your personal information, of course) or maybe trying to teach someone else in this small town who you are something of a friend with how to play and read music. I congratulate you being a self taught musician, and for being a fan of some of my fav music. I am currently trying to self teach myself the piano/keyboard and I know it's not easy. You seem to know a great deal about music, and I hope you can pursue it as a career or a hobby.

I've been playing the electric triangle since I was 8, and I have even been in some of Pink Floyds songs.
