How do i pay for auditions when i dont have enough money to pay and travel to st

Question:I am 14 and from Arkansas and i want to become an actress but my mom dont have enough money or time to take me around to aoudition for plays.So how do i start my acting career with me being so young with out a lot of money?Also how long does it normaly take for a person to start to become famous?

If you are really serious about acting, why not find a babysitting or some other type of job to help out with gas money, etc. Do you live near a large/medium size city? They are bound to have community theatre group(s) there. It costs nothing to perform in a play - just your time and commitment. Most local theatre groups don't require head shots and fancy resumes. Try googling "teen theatre auditions Arkansas" and see what comes up.

Meanwhile, get some plays at the library - the librarian should be able to suggest some shows that have roles for you. Read them and start performing bits and pieces of them in your living room for your family - or your dog/cat/hamster - whoever!

As for how long it takes to become famous - it takes as long as it takes. ;o)

There is no 100% sure-fire way to become famous the way you want to. Audition for as many school plays as you want can. Keep developing your craft. Do community theater. Read books on acting. If your parent/guardian cannot support you then you may have to wait till you're 18 to really set out on your career. Make sure you have the skill needed to meet your goals by the time you're 18 and continue developing always.

Follow your dream. Listen to your heart...don't let others tell you what you're going to do with your life.
