Position:Home>Theater & Acting> The Twelfth Night Soundtrack?

Question:I am working on making a soundtrack for a project on The Twelfth Night. The only bad thing is- I have no idea what kind of music to even start with. Obviously I'm not going to hand my teacher a soundtrack filled with Metal and Rock and expect her to see how it goes along with a Shakespeare play. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any Artist's names so that I could search some of their music- try and see if any of it would work. Prefferably soft, slow, love music.... I need fast music as well, such as for the shipwreck. I think I can handle those songs though..... I just need names of Artists that compose/create music along those lines. I listened to the Real Soundtrack- which was a bad idea because now I'm trying to find songs that are similar to the ones of that soundtrack.
I have to have songs that describe the characters- such as Viola, Olivia, Sebastian, Duke...all of the main people.
I also need songs for parts of the play that I thought were important....

The obvious thing to do is to use the songs that are sung in the play - unless, of course, you are wishing to out-Shakespeare Shakespeare!

To actually compose theme music for this play is a wonderful idea. One only need contemplate the opening line of the play "If music be the food of love play on" to be inspired.
Then the hard work starts, of course :)

Here are the song titles
(most of the music is fairly easy to find)
O mistress mine
Hold thy peace
Three merry men
There dwelt a man in Babylon
Farewell, dear heart
Hey Robin, jolly Robin
When that I was and a little, tiny boy
