Question:I'm a fifteen year old teen who wants to try out acting. Is there any way for me to get a sort of big deal role in a movie, or at least a minor role, but still paid? I live in Jacksonville, Florida. I love acting, writing, and singing [but not in front of anyone!! haha] I'm just wondering if anyone knows of anything close by that is open for auditions, with NO EXPERCINCE REQUIRED.

Pay also. Please. I just think it would be a fun thing to get into. NOT on a stage or anything though, like on film.

Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your time.

You do not want to go to open casting calls.
The chances of getting a role in open casting is slim to none. There will be thousands of people there.

Some websites list auditions in certain areas, but,

Get exposure first, learn more about the process.

join starsearchcasting.com It worked GREAT for me. It's the best, trust me.

If you want to get into acting you should do stage and all different kinds of varieties. Many actors today started out on stage. Try getting into small plays or so then start looking for film auditions so it would look good on your resume.

It's REALLY hard to break into acting. You need to find a GOOD acting school who can coach you. You need to be prepared. If you aren't, they won't hire you. If you don't like doing anything in front of others, you might want to rethink acting all together. Even in film, there are always tons of people around. Get a alisting of agents in your area and shoot off a headshot and resume.

Contact Florida state government offices and get the number for the folks who schedule films being shot in your state. See if any are being shot in Ft. Lauderdale. If your parents agree, check out films being shot in Miami. Try to get to where they are shooting and see what it involves. Believe me, they sit around for hours just to shoot a 2 minute scene. It's pretty boring for the actors and it's also very hard work with long hours, sometimes 20 hours straight.

If you decide you want it, audition for any plays locally at first and get stage experience. It's almost mandatory before you can be a film actor. Do some research on your favorite stars and I will wager they all have some theater background from school or college.

Bottom line - overnight success takes 10 to 15 years in Hollywood.

It's hard to be an actor and not live in LA, or California....

First and formost if you want to break into acting, you need an agent, and the good ones that will get you auditions, and jobs are in LA....

Check with your parents and talk about getting an agent in LA, but you can't do it without your parents though, especially if you live in florida....

I'm an actor that was in the movie Benchwarmers, and have been in many TV shows and commercials, and have been on the tonight show 3 times....So if you have any more questions, email me....
