Don't get an air-assault gun, or a squirt gun and paint it black. Here this is a link to a good website with some impressive looking prop guns.

I bought one of these for my 16mm shoot. I it looks, feels, and weighs like the real thing. It even has a removable magazine you can load blanks into. It has moving parts. And when it fires blanks, it sounds realistic, and the rounds fall out the chamber. The barrel is sealed off with lead or something. So you know it's fake.

airsoft guns that can get spray painted would be the way to go...

U can buy a squirt gun and spray paint it black or buy a bb gun (co2 powered) and dont load it so when u shoot it it makes a puff of smoke in cold air just dont load it (availible at walmart)

airsoft guns are a 1 to 1 model of a real gun its just shoots plastic bb's. Get one of those... you can get those in a lot of places in the mall.

Well, if you don't want to spend a lot of money, you can do what my brother did:
Buy an orange gun from the dollar store and spray paint it black =P

On your way to the Delhi airport or practically anywhere in the Punjab state just stop at a restaurant called a "tah-bah" and if they have a little store there ask them for a gun. You can get a really nice fake sauer (well i dont noe what the model is called, but its what the us navy are using right now)
