Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Man of La Mancha?

Question:So a theatre in the area is putting on Man of La Mancha. I know everyone there very well and have been in many of the shows. I've always wanted to do this show, but I have several problems:
1) My car has been taken away
2) The theatre is 30 minutes away
3) I have tennis practice 5 days a week
4) I'm struggling in an Honors and AP class

I'm 5'6", a decent singer and a really strong actor. Should I do the play? --Sid

Unless you can promise (and deliver) 100% of your effort to the play...don't waste their time.
I've been involved in plays where actors haven't shown because they deemed their piano/tennis/math lessons more important than showing for rehearsals etc. They had known when they auditioned they probably weren't going to be able to give 100%...but somehow hurting the production to satisfy their desire to be in the play didn't seem to phase them.

Don't do it. There will always be plays to audition for. There won't always be AP classes. You only get one shot at your grades. And you can't get to rehearsal anyway.
