What do you think of Michelle Ryan as Jamie Sommers (The Bionic Woman)?

Question:I always knew she was a fine and talented actress but tonight was the first night I had watched it and if I wasnt british and hadnt seen her in Eastenders/Jekyll I would have thought she was actually American as I was amazed at how well she can affect an American accent she just blends in so well with the rest of the cast.
But hey shes an actress doing her job.

Shes really got a knack for doing these types of parts. Everytime she has a part she seems so perfect for it.

It's so great that shes able to do such different roles.

She doesn't work for me in that role. She is a great actress but Jamie Sommers was more of a Jennifer Aniston type of character. She wasn't all hard bodied and self assured.
She had her doubts, even a little goofiness.
They needed someone softer and more sympathetic if they had a hope of re-creating Lyndsey Wagner's famous role.
Bad casting. I hope Michelle Ryan gets a role more suited for her. She deserves a chance to really shine with her talent.

I agree with Sculptress, above. I think she is a great actress but I would have chosen a different type more similar to the old Jamie Sommers/Lindsay Wagner character.

I've not seen it yet, but I'm sure people will be comparing her to Lindsay Wagner's portrayal. That's really unfair to Michelle Ryan because each actress has to make any role her own. It looks grittier than the original--she looks tougher, so I imagine it will be good.

I thought she was an excellent Bionic Woman. But I somehow knew that no matter how good the show was, it would be cancelled. I was right...

Actors and actresses can blend in very well if they're any good. And good she is.

I Love The Bionic Woman.. Linsey Wagger was The Best and No One can every replace her..I named My Oldies Daughter after Jaime Summers(Yes That is the way the TV show spelled Jaime) A Beautiful Name I think My Friend..
