Please read my screenplay!?

Question:I keep posting my idea so i can get different peoples opinions.
I've got this idea for a screenplay and would love to hear peoples opinion on it.

James and Kayla Peterson have a child named Riley. The father gets their money through secretly pulling off stunts as a conman. He then makes a mistake and needs to pay a man some money that he doesn't have. The man ends up killing the mother. In James' attempt to keep Riley (at the time 9) safe, he gives her sleeping pills and abbandons her on the streets in another city.

Riley grows up on the streets (14 during the rest of the screnplay) until she crosses paths with her father once again. Someone is after Riley for something she had done, and is forced to hide with her father.

She is now driven to the choice of forgiving her father for what he had done or never forgiving him. Until the father tells her WHY he had abbandoned her for her safety. Until she finally chooses to forgive him and live happily ever after. :D

I acually really like it! You're good at that!

doesn't sound like it would happen. I think that for this character (Riley) there could have been another option that her father could have taken for protect her. I believe Riley would think her father is stupid and not wnt to be back with him. at least the fathers excuse wouldn't be the reason. Should she forgive him yes but she should reach her reason to forgive by other means.

sorry i find it boreing,stupid and uneventful. also people go to plays to escape from reality. do you really think that people want this pushed on them? i'm with rodger elizabeth depree (from producers) on this one. keep it gay!

you always want something ... a little more happy? i dont want to go yo a show that will leave me suicidel.

it sounds a little like les miesrables. since it is so sad. but les miesrables has music and is about a revoltion so it is eventful. in les miesrables almost everyone dies except marcus and stupid cozette who is still whineing how sne doesnt know her mother. while eponie and fantine just died for her!

sorry but if you want the truth. it sucks. lighten up! keep on trying!

p.s. sorry for being so hard but if ever brought that in to a producer he would be even harder!

I have to say, it's pretty generic. Like an old episode of Law and Order of investigating the death of the mother - and then reveal the cross story of Riley and James Peterson.

I think the background story is fine, but it'd be much more interesting if Riley's story arc would take a dramatic turn, or the entire story evolved around the word "Conman."
