3. What is the meaning the lines "The prophet... the speed of Banquo!" (lines 59-70)

5. What additional task does Macbeth ask of the murderers? (lines 135-138). Why does he ask this as well?

1. he's daring, wise, and naturally superior

2. that he chided the three witches for making Macbeth king, and had them make him the father of kings

3. If you mean "Then, prophet-like...the seed of Banquo !" then it means that the witches made Banquo the father of kings and made Macbeth barren. Macbeth was so troubled by this that he killed Duncan in an attempt to have his family remain royal

4. Macbeth orders the murderers to kill Banquo. He convinces them to do this by listing Banquo's past wrongs towards them, and states he is their enemy as well as his own.

5. He also asks the murderers to kill Banquo's son, Fleance, so he cannot later take the throne
