Question Home

Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Please read my screenplay idea. Any suggestions??

Question:I've got this idea for a screenplay and would love to hear peoples opinion on it.

James and Kayla Peterson have a child named Riley. The father gets their money through secretly pulling off stunts as a conman. He then makes a mistake and needs to pay a man some money that he doesn't have. The man ends up killing the mother. In James' attempt to keep Riley (at the time 9) safe, he gives her sleeping pills and abbandons her on the streets in another city.

Riley grows up on the streets (14 during the rest of the screnplay) until she crosses paths with her father once again. Someone is after Riley for something she had done, and is forced to hide with her father.

She is now driven to the choice of forgiving her father for what he had done or never forgiving him. Until the father tells her WHY he had abbandoned her for her safety. Until she finally chooses to forgive him and live happily ever after. :D

Well??
Please be nice!
Thanks for reading!

Interesting. If the the reason James abandoned her is something the audience can accept, then it can work. I like the mystery element to this. It's intriguing. I think it can work. But the father better have a good explanation for the abandonment. Good luck!

Sounds like something that has been done a million times.

Yeah.... but what sort of Father would do that to his daughter ... too unbelievable and definitely B-Grade. Why not make it that he leaves her with a relative that passes away and she's left alone?? A bit more realistic. Good luck.

please do not take this offensively it is a nice story if you changed some things like the beginning but the way it is now is little to corny
