Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Going into voice acting?

Question:I wanted to get into acting [tv/films] and i was also thinkin voice acting for cartoons, maybe video games...but again, with voice acting, i dont know anything about it...i obviously hear a different voice then what everyone else hears when i speak, so how do i know if i have a "voice acting" kind of voice?

how do u start getting into voice acting?

if u dont have a HUGE variety of different expressions, can you still get in?

and please answer any other "common" questions that i didnt ask, or add any other info ud like...also, please dont be discouraging...thnx...

i'm audio/video production but am not deep into it fully yet. i too love voice acting, but find that the majority of famous voice actors have many different 'characters'/voices to play with. to know if you have a "voice acting" kind of voice you just have to tape yourself- read a bit of literature in different voices, and listen to yourself. if you, and others, agree that each 'voice' sounds different, you've got 1 thing going for you. another good thing about most voice actors, so i've noticed, is they speak very very clearly, with very good pronounciation & enunciation.
you may also want to work with learning accents, as they can broaden your 'character' line-up to show off if ever you're in an audition.
you may find a good niche for your small amount of 'expressions' and be able to get in just as well as those with a huge array of voices. but then i don't know *for sure*. hope some of that helps.
