Does anyone know of any fictional stories about insane people?

Question:I'm writing a pitch for drama class and my "directors notebook" has no text examples other than quotes in it, so if anyone can recommend an easily found story about someone struggling with life, because they're sort of going crazy, I'd be eternally grateful

There's the character Ophelia in Hamlet. She goes nuts after her dad dies, her brother was sent off of to France and Hamlet was sent of to England because he "went crazy".

check out the play Proof. about Catherine who is afriad that she's going to go crazy like her father did.

Well it's not that this person is going crazy but she isn't 100% normal.
