First of all you said you did well in your assigned role and it sounds like this was one moment in the entire show. I am curious...did your drama teacher tell you they were disappointed or are you guessing that they are? I am hoping they did not single you out for this one moment. Some drama teachers feel that it makes them look bad if the production doesn't go well but need to understand the audience is primarily friends and family who are cheering you on.

If they did tell you then you should ask to speak to them and ask for suggestions on how to tolerate the stage lights better. As an actor that is essential to be able to do and your teacher will respect you for acknowledging this is an area you want to get better at.

If they did not say anything to you then assume everything is fine and the only person who's trust you need to regain is your own.

Every actor has their moment ( or two or three) on stage in their career where something doesn't go quite as it should. And every great actor bounces back. Take this experience as something you need to work on and be proud of yourself for doing well in your role in spite of this.

Hey, it's a high school play for crying out loud. The fun part of watching one of those plays is seeing the kids lose it sometimes. Your teacher is taking this a little too seriously. Don't worry about it, really. She'll get over it.

Grow up, it's not the end of the world. You'll be out of high school in no time and never talk to that gay teacher that obviously puts too much pressure on you again.

Worry about your grades and things that matter. Worry about preppinig yourself for college. (assuming you are going)

if he is seriously mad at you for that he is a real dick, i have done some workin theater and those things happen. ****'em

go with it. be a pleasant loser. hey, create a cool description of me, toots! bow down before the sooon to be over.
on the other, how about demanding some kudos. Not everyone assigns themselves well to their role. not everyone. stop. repeat. ave. amen. peatititude.

Forget about it and just keep up the acting, your teacher will get over it faster if she sees you just getting on with life too

tell teacher to get over it

I guess you're disappointed from it yourself, too. All you can do is say "now I've discovered something I need to work on," and move onwards. If you're really keen on doing drama you will always be learning new techniques, and some of them will be special to you and your own needs. I too am sensitive to light and can lose concentration. I find it harder when I am anxious to do well. As you work on it your confidence will grow.

ITA with everybody here! Congratulations! You are now a member of the club that ALL actor's eventually join. Even the most skilled and experienced of actors have those moments. Like someone said here, just learn from it. You are (all actors are for that matter) a work-in-progress.

Keep the faith! Keep on keepin' on!
