Position:Home>Theater & Acting> What song should I sing at a show chior competition?

Question:I'm a 15-year-old soprano, i am actually a good singer, people have said, and i need some ideas for my solo song. Does anyone have ideas?

So far it's either "who Am I" from Peter Pan, or "My New Philosophy" from You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Any other ideas? I want a cute (I'm small and "cute" in a childish way), showy song that people will like.

Thanks in advance!

Wow. I'm exactly like you save for the fact I'm definitely *not* a soprano. xP And I sang "My New Philosophy" for my Cabaret audition and got in! I dressed all out for it, too. :^)

"My Strongest Suit" from Aida is not necessarily cute, but definitely showy.
"All for You" from Seussical is definitely cute, but more alto-y.
(Also from Seussical: "One-Feathered Tail", "Amazing Mayzie", "Amazing Gertrude", "Mayzie from Palm Beach", "Notice Me, Horton")
"Not For the Life of Me" from Thoroughly Modern Millie
"The Life of the Party" from The Wild Party, although this one is more showy than cute as well.
"Mix Tape - Avenue Q
"Show Off" from The Drowsy Chaperone
"Inside Your Heart" from Bat Boy, the Musical is soprano-y, but not necessarily showy or cute.
"Diva's Lament" from Spamalot.

Sorry if these weren't what you're looking for, but since I'm more of an alto my songbooks have more alto songs than anything. xP

Wow, you've got your marketing down :) Sell it further by choosing the tune with which you feel most comfortable!

Living in America, by James Brown...

Maybe "Tomorrow" from Annie or "Popular" from Wicked.

Sing the song you sing the best!
