Joel Grey is an actor who starred in the stage and movie versions of the musical "Cabaret". "Cabaret" is actually by John Kander (Music) and Fred Ebb (Lyrics) with a story by Joe Masteroff based on many prior written sources. Bob Fosse was the director and choreographer.

I have no idea what you are referring to. Joel Grey played the Emcee in the 1973 film version of "Cabaret". I think he might have played the role on Broadway as well. Has he written a book about the experience?

The broadway play was the original which starred Joel Grey as the emcee. The movie came out afterwards. The two are completely different so I don't know which one you are referring to. But it's main theme is the rise of Nazi-ism in Germany.
