How do i make my voice sound different?

Question:i have a very sweet voice but im in a band and i want it to sound more rockish like janis joplin or something. how do i make it sound more like that without sounding like im trying too hard?

there was only one JOPLIN, and her voice was
natural.If you copy hers you may destroy your
voice,Try drooping down half a scale Shout the first
few words of the song,bang the tambourine loud.Having a pretty voice is a plus,make it work
for you.

you can try different voices untill u find the right one!
