Question:I am going on a 12 hour flight and I want a couple new albums of musicals to listen too. I like to listen to musicals when I travel cause it entertains me and makes the time go faster.

Some of my favorites right now are:
Little Women
Jane Eyre
You're a Good Man Charlie Brown
Spring Awakening

I have Rent, Wicked, Sweeney Todd, Legally Blonde, Light in the Piazza, Avenue Q, Les Miz, Young Frankenstein, Spamelot, and a few others

Little Women - i love that one! actually i love all of the musicals on your list.

I just bought the soundtrack to The Little Mermaid, and it is fabulous! i have been listening to it nonstop since i bought it 2 weeks ago. sierra boggess, who plays ariel, has an amazing voice! sherie renee scott as ursula is also very good.

I also like Aida, Footloose, Movin' Out (but that's not really showtunes kind of music). umm, i can't think of any others that aren't on your list.

My absolute favourite sound-track at the moment is "T he Future is Unwritten", about the life of Joe Strummer. Really good!

Across the Universe
Hairspray
A Chrous Line
Phantom of the Opera

Obviously, its a matter of personal taste.
For me its West Side Story (music by Leonard Bernstien)
The score is a work of pure genius, and is superior, in terms of harmony, originality, beauty and depth, to any other musical I've heard.

The Phantom of the Opera
Aida
Ragtime
Chicago
Wicked
Beauty and the Beast
The Lion King
Dreamgirls (movie soundtrack)
Hairspray (movie soundtrack)
Miss Saigon
Into the Woods
West Side Story (movie soundtrack)

-Hairspray is awesome...the movie and broadway version.
-The Producers
-Cry Baby
-My Fair Lady
-The Jungle Book

"Gypsy" is considered one of the best ever. So good, in fact, we're on our fourth revival.

Across the Universe- Beatles songs, it can't get any better!
Jesus Christ Superstar- Judas has the most amazing voice
Into the Woods- Agony (& the Reprise) is the best duet of all time, so funny!
Moulin Rouge- Some of these are better than the originals
