Since your friend already has the role your function is mainly to negotiate her contract for her. Agents usually do that for clients that have been offered a job. If you want additional information you can go to www.musical-theater-kids.com/acting-agen...

Talent manager
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Music manager)
A talent manager, also known as a personal manager, is an individual or company who guides the professional career of artists in the entertainment industry. The responsibility of the talent manager is to oversee the day-to-day business affairs of an artist; advise and counsel talent concerning professional matters, long-term plans and personal decisions which may affect their career.[1]

The roles and responsibilities of a talent manager vary slightly from industry to industry, as do the commissions to which the manager is entitled. For example, a music manager’s duties differ from those managers who advise actors, writers, or directors. A manager can also help artists find an agent, or help them decide when to dump their current agent and identify who to select as a new agent.[2] Talent agents have the authority to make deals for their clients while managers usually can only informally establish connections with producers and studios, but do not have the ability to negotiate contracts

A talent agent, or booking agent, is a person who finds jobs for actors, musicians, models, and other people in various entertainment businesses. Agents make their money by making a percentage of the money that their client is paid. There are different regulations that govern different types of agents that are established by artist's unions and the legal jurisdiction in which the agent operates. There are also professional organizations that license talent agencies.

(I just copy and pasted from wikipedia)

The role of the agent is to get an actor auditions.

It is possible for an actor to get auditions without the help of an agent, but it is near impossible to get much more than 2 or 3 auditions a year. Agents go to a casting directory to find auditions for their actors. Casting agents also go to agencies to get actors to audition.

Basically, without an agent, there isnt an actor.
