Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Audition song for childlike character?

Question:My friend is trying out for Urinetown next week and would like the part of Little Sally. The director would like an uptempo song, and I'm having a hard time suggesting songs for her (she's an alto) that sound childlike but show off her voice well for the part. I suggested My New Philosophy from Charlie Brown, but could anyone help with more suggestions?? Thanks!

Check out "I Know Things Now" from Into the Woods.

Suessical also has some good stuff that would be appropriate for LS.

Cuppy cake song

You're my Honeybunch, Sugarplum
Pumpy-umpy-umpkin, You're my Sweetie Pie
You're my Cuppycake, Gumdrop
Snoogums-Boogums, You're the Apple of my Eye
And I love you so and I want you to know
That I'll always be right here
And I love to sing sweet songs to you
Because you are so dear

that is a great choice! I would also reccommend a song from 25th annual putnum countyt spelling bee or Tarzan. Any of the disney shows would be a good choice! Tell your friend to break a leg at her audition

just dont put too many requirements in. They give you alot of good songs.

maybe...
In My Own Little Corner (Cinderella)
I Got the Sun in the Morning (Annie Get you Gun)
(It might be a little higher than alto though)

good luck to her
