Should I get a professional coach for singing or acting?

Question:My mom says she doesn't want me to study drama and have that be my major because I could hit some bumps in the road but I would really like to get better at both singing and acting. Should I try hiring a coach to help me?

Sure, but that business (sp?) is very hard to get into and break through. American Idol might help you if you want to go that way, or it could just damage your career. If you hire professsional coach, you might wanna find an agent to. But remember, that business (sp?) is really competitive, so just in case you don't make it, also find a career that you could fall back on.
