Question Home

Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Here is the actual recording... How is my accent?

Question:Ok, so here it is. I recorded me speaking with my London accent, and lets just hope that the link worked this time! And I know I have posted this already several times, but I want all the opinions I can get.
I have been working on the accent for about 3 years. I want your honest opinions on how I can improve on it and make it sound more authentic. Please listen and tell me what you think. All I want is opinions on how to improve the accent. Do you think it is a decent attempt at a London accent, or is it absolutely beastly? Please give your honest opinion. I just need to know how to improve on the accent. Thank you for all your help! Cheers!

good

very close to authentic, keep practicing your getting there!
remember no nasaly a's and drop your y's

oh and by the way Brittish DIALECT, not accent...they speak the same language as us so it doesnt fall under accent its considered a dialect. for example; "southern dialect" and "boston dialect"

Yeah not bad at all a bit forced but 3 years is a long time to spend practicing one accent, try doing a scottish accent like mine =)

Loved it! Sounds very authentic to me.

I think that you are being too hard on yourself and that your accent sounds great. It's great that you are also keeping in mind the vernacular that they use. My advice to you would be to learn even more of the slang that they use. That would make it even more authentic.

Not too bad, like the other person said, maybe a little too forced
