Position:Home>Theater & Acting> What makes a good actor?

Question:I was reading a bunch of actors for something I was casting and it was really clear who "had it," and who didn't. I asked my 11 y.o. daughter what made the difference between the amazing actors and the so-so ones. She said the difference was whether the actor was being the character, versus acting like the character. So simple, but kids instinctively get it. (this was for film, so I don't know about stage, where it seems really different)

Good luck!

Good luck!

the ability to feel their characters emotions and show them as if they are their own.

To me a good actor gets into his character 3 months before its time for the play.He feels as if he is the character.Puts all his effort into his work.He enjoys what he does.He always has a good attitude ever when he is put down and strives for excellence.

Emily and Elizabeth have it nailed. Good actors do not act, they react honestly.

A good actor tries think about their character, and put themselves in their character's shoes. Acting is like portraying someone else than you
