Position:Home>Theater & Acting> ??For those of you who know the musical "Once On This Island"???

Question:I am going to try out for Once On This Island, hopefully getting the lead of Ti Moune, this summer and I just have some questions concerning the preparation I have to do for the musical:

1) What is a really good monologue to do in an audition for this paritcular production?

2) What is a really good, not over-used, song to sing for the audition?

Thanks in advance to all of your input!

First off, if your avatar is any indication and you are a young WHITE girl, you should know that the show is all black. I suppose it doesn't have to be, but the orignal concept is for is to be akind of Haitian Romeo and Juliet between light-skinned and dark-skinned blacks. That said, forget the monologue. Musical auditions never require a monologue; concentrate on the song. Try Lion King. The mood is about right -- tribal, primal, etc.
