Question:what are good methods of memorizing a monologue?
i have tried memorizing in chunks but that doesnt work..

i need help, fast!!

first try memorizing it w/o "getting into it". you know, like memorize it in monotone. then once you have that down you can add "umph" to it.

if that doesn't work for you, (this is going to sound lame) get into the mindset of the character...try to picture him/her saying those words, think about why it makes sense that that's what they'd say. anyway good luck!

There's no way around it - You've just got to sit down with your monologue and study it. Read it in your head, read it aloud, read it to a friend, read it in the car, read it to your camera, read it in your sleep.

the best way to memorize something is to read it, write it, and hear it by having someone else read it. you can also record it on a tape and play it when you are asleep

the asleep one works really good

Try to memorize it to a tune, that could help.

put it to music. Seriously think of all the songs you have memorized. That would be one big monologue.
