Whose tragedies and comedies? I thought they were opposites. If you are talking Shakespeare, they are all in iambic pentameter and sometimes character crossover. All of them have a measure of morality. Does that help?

They both usually consist of romance....

they both have a plot! protagonist and antagonist.
in tragedies, there is sometimes some humour. and in comedies there is some tragedies.
