Position:Home>Theater & Acting> I love acting, but is it too late?

Question:I love acting, and I'd really like to start being involved with local community and dinner theaters. But the thing is, the only plays I've been a part of are school productions, so I don't have a lot of experience. I would have no problem booking the auditions because I have connections, I just have no experience. Also, I have no dancing experience. I'd gladly start classes, but I don't know how since every local studio basically requires you to have been doing it your whole life. And I have had no singing lessons/experiance. I'm afraid it's too late. Is it? How can I get started? I'm 13 years old.

No way! I'm 13 and just started my career a few years ago. It is never too late to go after your dream.

go 4 it!
u never no till u try!

It's NEVER EVER too late! Go through out your community and see what you can find out about lessons. Good Luck!

you're definately not too old! go for it! you never know unless you give it a try!

First of all its never to late. And you should try to find an acting school for pratice and when you go to high school sigh up for drama defiantly. After your in grade 12 your councilor will ask you what u want to do with ur carreer you tell him then they find you a college with acting and your all set

look at so many another actors and actoresses, starting around your age. practice your dancing and if you'll have a coregropher for the play, and you learn quickly you won't have any problem..

break a leg!

If you can act, experience is not necessary. If you can't sing or dance, you limit yourself, but with determination, you can still make it.

are you kidding me im 13 i want to act tooo im just waiting intel im not bussy so do it right nnow like a babe class then a 13year old class then just work your way up then yull be like 15 or 14 then you will have a good portfallow

no its not to late. you need to go to auditions and prove yourself break a leg know your monoalgue and be damn good. Then take acting classes they do exsit just look around. and there is dance class for beginers you can even take it at a community college. I took mine at YMCA and community college. I took ballet at 20. and tap at 22. so hope that helps.

Of course it's not too late. Tyra banks started modeling at 16 years old and she's big now. You can totally do it. Start not, but it might take time away from your schooling if you are signed to an agency!!

im 13 too. umm well first try out for a city play and work yor way up. i am trying to make my voice bigger so i can sing. it has improved alot but i still need a lot of practice. write your own small script and film yourself reading it. PRACTIC!
GOOD LUCKERZ!

Well, maybe you will have to be a legit actor instead of a musical actor. Most musicals have non singing roles. You should do all you can to get involved with the community theaters and build your experience.

Never too late to start acting. Since youve been in school productions, ask the play's organizers if they can bring talent scouts in. If your good they might like you and even make you a star.
