Why do you think Shakespeare shows Macbeth taken in by the witches' propheci

Macbeth does not originate his evil, he is urged to evil by the witches and by Lady Macbeth. He is given the choice to remain a loyal subject or to acquire the regency by committing murder. It is the method in which he convinces himself to make the choice and the method in which his choice unravels that is the subject of the play. The witches move the plot along and make it more obvious that the choice is offered to him rather than originated by him. Or at any rate, that is as much as I remember of 10th grade English, which I took 27 years ago.
