How should you prepare yourself to become an actress?

Question:Depending on your age, I will give advice presuming you are still at school.

Try hard in all your subjects including drama, get a good education behind you to fall back on in case you decide it is not for you.

I took English Literature and drama at college then Choreography and dance at uni. Then go to drama school, it is a must as you learn so much and make important contacts. I found it really prepared me.

Take acting classes, learn to sing and to dance, the more you can do the better. Read plays, know the industy by doing your research, watch as many shows/plays as you can.

Youth/amateur theatre is a great way to get experience and build confidence.
