For major auditions, whether TV, film, or theater, you would need to live in or near NYC (mostly theatre) or LA (more film & TV). Even major theatres in other cities hold their auditions in New York. The trade paper that lists auditions is called "Backstage," and they also have a website. You'll find that auditions are listing in "union" and "non-union" categories. The bigger, professional union shows do not allow non-union folks to attend those auditions. There are always plenty of non-union auditions also.

reading the trades would be best . variety and trade publications of that nature.

Perform in your school plays and join the community theater in your city.

Read the newspapers for actors: such as
Backstage.com

Agents do not cost money. Your naivte is appalling. You can't just go audition without experience and training or you will make a fool of yourself. The only way for a young teen to become an actor is for her parents to work very hard at it, OR if you get busy and participate in all the speech and drama things at school, you may discover that you do or do not have acting ability. Worth a try before you wander into traffic.

Agents are free. you can try www.craigslist.com but be careful

um... first of all you don't pay for an agent... and i strongly advise that you get one because they know where the important calls are going to be... it'll save you a lot of time and effort because a lot of the big movies and commercials and things ARE NOT going to simply be on the Internet.
Half the people here really don't get that.
And if the agent says you do have to pay to be in the agency, its a definite scam!

Good Luck
