Question:okay ive been memorizing a monologue. but with a monologue you have to stare at an invisible significant other. but with the monologue i have it requires you to move around to much. but i have a new one that i have to have memorized by tomorrow in first period. i didnt procrastinate so please dont get onto me with negative criticism but any advice on memorizing it well and somewhat quickly? ive been reading it out loud for about 10 minutes straight so far.

Multi-task it! Use your whole brain. First, record yourself reading it. Second. Find some props related to the story, and for particular where you are having trouble remembering.

Listen to the words you recorded, read the lines, then read along...then act it out with the props to aid your memory. Start with reading and acting with the recording, then drop the recording or the script, and then stop using the props. You can visualize the props when you need to remember the sections for your audition.
