Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Acting portfolio ....?

Question:Hi, this is a student who sent the portfolio to major theater(acting) and I'm an international student .... and I used Porter's speech from Macbeth and Biff from The death of a salesman to major the theater performance .... and I didn't pronounce 100% correct as I'm an international student and didn't use english for long time. And I was trying to look acting like a drunken guy on Porter's speech and I wasn't able to pronounce perfectly as I had to pronounce "for it" to for't like this and teacher told me that he undestood 85 % of my pronounciation. and on Biff's acting, teacher told me that he understood 100% of my pronounciation as I acted very seriously and trying to pursuade his dad.

so , Is unperfect pronounciation(90% understandable) will cause very negative effect for me (if) my acting was definitely really unique and outstanding ?

Well, as a drunk person, you're not going to pronounce or enunciate properly anyway! lol

What's more important in acting is emotional honesty. If you're true to the character's core (rather than characaturizing what or how you THINK he/she might act and/or sound like), then you stand a better chance of winning the role. At the very least, your audition will be compelling enough to warrant a call-back on the casting agent's part. Pronunciation can be dealt with during the rehearsal period.
