Question:Surpassing brilliant, Alan Rickman has played a variety of roles with aplomb. Supurb in his ability to make us believe he IS the character instead of just a shadowy echo, Rickman infuses each of the personas with his own take while not removing the substance of what the writers intended.

More than Brilliant !!

Brilliant! I can't think of any movie he hasn't been great in.

he's brilliant

I have seen him in many films as a baddy and a goody and I do think he is a brilliant actor.great in Harry Potter films.

Watch Robin Hood and Galaxy Quest- he is beyond brilliant!

Brilliant, he makes a lovely villain.

Brilliant

Hm, well, I'd say he was a brilliant actor.

He is really good!
He varies with each character!
:)

I am not sure, the only things I have ever seen him in are the Harry Potter movie series where he plays Professor Severus Snape. And of course, he has a movie before, and now that are outside of the Harry Potter movie series. So outside of the series, I really don't think I have seen him in another movie. I see that he played Alexander Dane in Galaxy Quest, and Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. And that movie was out about 10 years before the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone movie came out. And he plays Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. So you just can't just judge his roles in the Harry Potter movies, no matter how big there were.

He's brilliant. Each of his characters is vastly different from the last - it's not like he's playing a character, he is the character. His Rasputin (opposite Sir Ian McKellen's Tsar Nicholas) was incredible, and he is a wonderful Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd - and that's no easy role, particularly the singing.

Brilliant - saw him on stage in Private Lives and he was magnificent.
