Question:I recently posted a question: i just LOVE acting but dont really like stage acting. I know i'm talented but how do i let directors and talent scouts know i am? How do i find auditions etc?
I should probably add that i am a homeschooled 15 yearold without acess to school plays. I do enjoy stage acting, but the only thing i can do is an occasional church skit with no character outline, little more than a spoof on a gameshow etc. That is what i mean that i dontlike stage acting- but surely its not all like that?! I want to eventualy work my way up to movie acting which interests me much more. Can anyone suggest an acting college i can try for, or more magazines i can subscribe to that will advertise auditions in my area? (southwest mo) Acting is the only thing i can see myself truely enjoying as a career- i love to make people laugh and cry according to what i do- i can see myself as a great adition to the acting world with the right training. Where can i get it?

definitely look for some community theatre in your area. the only thing you'll be able to do in your area is live theatre. if you want to get into the movie business you'll need to get yourself to LA.

I suggest doing some community theatre until you graduate high school. that will give you some experience and start your resume. plus it will feed your hunger for performing until you can get into the film business.
I also suggest you look at some colleges here in Southern California. USC (University of Southern California) is one of the top film schools in the country. but it is very hard to get into. Also UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) is a good school to study acting. but again this school is hard to get into. both of these schools are in the heart of LA and give you many opportunities to pursue your career.
If you don't want to go to college i suggest a drama conservatory type of school. these schools usually offer two year programs that give you the tools and skills needed to make it in the industry. look at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (www.aada.org).

I hope this helps. the main thing is to build your resume, meat people who can help you (who you know is a HUGE part of getting jobs) and never give up. If you truly love acting, you can make the best of even the smallest roles and your perseverance will get you noticed.

I don't know your area, but what you can do is look for community theatre in your area online and check their websites for audition notices
