How can you find auditions in Chicago?

Question:I live in milwaukee Wisconsin, and I don't have an agent, and don't feel that I'm ready for one yet, but how do you find semi-major auditions in chicago? Like extras, or minor role auditions. Again, how would you find one without an agent?

(There are a lot of audition notices from the league of Chicago theatres. Several of them are looking for young actors - some of those auditions are coming up really soon.)

Public Enemies - a Universal Pictures feature film starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale will be shooting in Chicago starting in mid-March. I don't know what roles they still need cast, but studios often fill some of the smaller roles with local talent.

I don't know what local casting director is handling the Chicago casting. You could either send your picture and resume to Avy Kaufman - or your best bet is to dig around and see who locally is handling the casting for the film.

There is a Film Meetup group in Chicago and one of the things they're going to discuss is whether you got an audition for Public Enemies and if not - why not. Someone there will probably know who is doing the local casting. They also seem to know about the indy film scene in Chicago.

I live in chicago and have been to several auditions. Check the internet, type in auditions in chicago, or looking on talent sites. Some websites offer free 1-88 numbers to call for free auditions. good luck
