Hmmmm....tough call but I'd have to say Al Pacino. He's been versitile throughout his career doing roles outside the "Gangster" stereotype far more than Robert DeNiro though I like the latter better. That was an impressive monologue Pacino delivered in "The Scent of a Woman" at the end of the movie at the school.

DeNiro by far!! Have you ever seen Pacino play anything differently? But my favorite of that "type" is actually Chazz Palminteri

Sadly both of them have become caricatures of themselves.

DeNiro is by far the better actor of the two, versatile and with a comedic flair. Pachino just chews the scenery and uses Hu ahhh in every performance!

I think DeNiro is more versatile. Did you catch him in Stardust??

I'll say Robert DeNiro
