I'm going to a Broaway show this weekend?

Question:I'm see Spamalot this weekend for my bday and I was wonderig what do you wear? I've never been to a Broadway show before so I was just wondering.

You don't have to dress up. Wear somethig nice so you don;t look like a slob but jeans and a nice top are fine.

You don't need to overdress. Smart casual is fine. :)

I've been to several Broadway shows, and these days, you can wear just about anything. Jeans is fine. But, I think it's nice to dress up a little, like business casual. It's just not mandatory.

Be smart, but don't go in a cocktail dress or anything!

I have always wanted to go but I've never had the chance, so I don't know what you should wear...but if you take me then we can find out what not to wear when we get there!

You can wear what you like, everyone is different, some dress up, some don't. Enjoy, you lucky thing!

Just like a little black dress or jeans and a nice shirt. Nothing to dressy but nice, Just think bizness casual.

I think going to see a Broadway show is a special event - something that deserves more than your everyday casual clothes. It always drives me crazy seeing people stroll in wearing jeans - especially to an evening show.

You don't need to overdue it with formal clothes, it's not the black tie occasion it once was, but the theatre deserves respect, so wear something nice.

I'd echo the advice above - I've been to a few Broadway shows, though not Spamalot (the closest in tone would probably be The Producers). Broadway is relaxed, the show's a comedy, there's no need to dress up; but it's an event (especially if you don't go often) and it's your birthday, so why not celebrate the fact by wearing something a bit more special?
