Something you can dance in, but should remind the directors of the character you are auditioning for. If you're going for one of the teenage dancers, then sweats are fine, but as a girl I'd suggest something bright.

just go with sweatpants from hollister or abercrombie. cute and comfortable.

and a cami with like a white t-shirt (not too baggy) that you could easy take off if you get hot.

try not to go above the dress code--they'll get mad.

best of luck with your audition,

angel.

go ahead and wear whatever you want that fits well
don't wear those suits or something uncomfortable its just an audition
If you do get the part they'll probably give you the clothes you need to wear
sometimes they'll judge you on what you wear
for example: if you wear riped clothes they'll probably say that your bold and beyond, you don't care what what people say about you(or it will be the other way around)

not at all dressy. if you can dance in sweats and a t shirt, ok.

Yes, first person is right.
In my former high school in NYC, our dress code for attending graduation or music concert, we have to wear dance shoes, black tuxedo and comfortable.
For girls, no short skirt or miniskirt is not allowed.

cute sweat pants, tite shirt, cute tennis shoes

If it for a non-musical & you know what part you are auditioning for, dress in the manner of your character. If it a musical, dress in clothes you can move and dance in comfortably. Sweats are not very memorable- try to stand out to catch the directors eye. Show a little flair!
