to some extent. My little sisters plays it over and over and yes it gets annoying... The first time i watch it was cool... but after awhile it gets annoying just like any other movie...

As a theater geek, my theater friends and I hate HSM because we know what theater is really like. Like, Troy and Gabriela's "Breaking Free" audition was awful. Disney tried to make Ryan and Sharpay look "showy", but the truth is that musical theater (especially a musical called "Twinkle Town") would demand exactly that kind of cheddar-y musicality.

Also, if you've ever even been in a school play, you should know that Miss Darbus would have cast Ryan and Sharpay ANYWAY. If they were veteran leads and favorites, Troy and Gabriela wouldn't have stood a chance.

So that's my rant. Thanks for letting me stand on my soap box. :]

I've never seen it and I have no desire too. I did see a clip from it and I was not impressed.

I feel sad that HSM is what young performers use as something to aspire to. It does seem like one of those passing fads, where years down the road HSM fans will look back at it and think, "I can't believe I used to like that."
