Position:Home>Theater & Acting> When Auditions Ask For Your Resume??Should You Write Any Extra Acting You've

Question:Do not put extra work on your resume. It's called "background" for a reason bcecuase that's what you are - it's not acting.

Of course, this is a highly debated subject and comes down to personal preference. The above statement is what I generally go with and the 2 extra parts I've done on big budget films are not on my resume because any legit casting director will see right through it - that you're trying to pass off background work as a real part, which is highly looked down upon.

However, if you're in a small market, you can probably do it without repercussions. Just don't try to play it off as something it's not. Put extra or what the actual role was - pedestrian, jogger, FBI agent, etc.
