Yelling hello at a wall before the voice is warmed up could be harmful. Doing head rolls first in one direction then the other is common. I rather like a little jazzercise as a warm up as it wakes you up and gets you ready for action. Singing five not progressions is a great vocal warm up. But in the long run, the idea of exercises and so on to prepare one to perform is something I am not real hot on. For singing and dancing, sure, but for acting. You just switch on your actor mind and get on with it.
